Combilift C5000SLE flameproof conversion

This multidirectional Combilift C5000SLE was converted to Zone 2, Atmosphere group IIB, classification 3G, Temperature Class T4 in compliance with AS 2359.12-1996 & AS 1915-1992.

The machine's electrical equipment (computer cards, barriers, contactors etc) has been modified by replacing or moving specific electric hardware to a main explosion proof enclosure.

The wiring from the main enclosure to each electrical item is converted to be intrinsically safe. This is a type of protection based on the restriction of electrical energy within equipment and interconnecting wiring exposed to the explosive atmosphere, below a level which can cause ignition by sparking or heating effects.

A safety monitoring and shutdown system has been installed on the unit, in case of overtemperature of any monitored component or in case of earth leakage.

All potential sparking items i.e. motors, lighting, switches and displays have been checked to meet a certain IP rating, and then specific protections have been added to meet the Zone 2 standard.

The lead acid battery has been built and installed as per AS1915.
